Hakeem is a Los Angeles-born DJ, producer, and radio presenter whose sound acts as a bridge between West Coast underground culture and the evolving landscape of European electronic music.
Raised in Compton, Hakeem developed an eclectic palette at a very young age. He was heavily influenced by his father's collection of funk, soul, and West Coast hip-hop, alongside the heavy Jamaican dub and reggae records introduced to him by his grandparents. Discovering the British dubstep scene at age 11 through online underground communities completely shifted his trajectory, seamlessly fusing his love for deep, rumbling basslines and syncopated riddims.
Hakeem is a long-standing resident on the legendary Rinse FM network. Splitting his time between Los Angeles and Oslo, Norway, he curates a bi-weekly show on Rinse France, delving into the deeper end of contemporary club music. As a DJ, his sets move fluidly between house, bass, and more experimental club sounds, reflecting the wide range of influences that have shaped his musical identity.
