Listening Session: an immersive sound experience

This immersive sound experience is a listening session at the suggestive Emanuel Vigeland Museum, where you will be surrounded by the low-light atmosphere and stunning frescos of the mausoleum. We will listen to film scores and exclusive unreleased music material. Soundtracks: for the films BELOW THE CLOUDS (by Daniel Blumberg) and AGNUS DEI (by Husk Husk).

Daniel Blumberg is a London based composer and visual artist whose practice operates across songwriting, improvisation, drawing and sound. He has released four solo albums and composed scores for films including Below The Clouds, The Testament of Ann Lee and The Brutalist (for which he was awarded an Academy Award and BAFTA). For the score of Below the Clouds, he called upon the extended technique of saxophonists Seymour Wright and John Butcher to create sounds abstracted from their instruments. Blumberg himself added bass harmonica, and recordings of Wright’s launeddas: using specialised geophones and hydrophones, he amplified these recordings underwater, immersing them in the sea that touches Pompei.
